Crooze — Radio Companion App
A mobile companion app for Crooze, a fictional radio station built around relaxed, curated listening. Designed and prototyped in Figma as part of a group project during Werkplekleren 2 (WPL2), covering onboarding, live events, podcasts and a listener chat.
Overview
Designing a calmer way to listen
Crooze is a fictional radio brand built around relaxed, curated listening — for busy professionals unwinding after work and students looking for a calm study soundtrack. My role was to translate that brief into a mobile app people would actually want to open every day.
I started with the onboarding flow — a simple, friendly pincode sign-in — then moved into the core screens: a news feed for the latest releases, an events overview so listeners never miss a local show, podcast pages, and a social chat where listeners and presenters can talk directly. Every screen was built and tested as a clickable Figma prototype before being handed to the development team.
Working inside a five-person team meant constantly checking that design decisions were technically feasible — a good chunk of this project was spent going back and forth with the developer to keep scope realistic while still pushing for a distinct, orange-and-black brand feel throughout the app.
